I think I remember seeing a post about "as seen on TV" gadgets but I can't find it. So, has anyone ever bought the Pasta Express advertised on TV? You put dry pasta or vegetables or hot dogs or whatever in a tall glass cylinder, cover it with boiling water and the special cover. Then remove the top and strain it through the attached strainer. Does it work or is it just a waste of money? [dunno] Thanks!

Bev..I'm the gadget queen...having just about everythingout on the market.. But..I only saw this new pasta cooker advertised last week for the first time...if you have seen the full infamerchal it does more than just pasta. So I can't help ya on this one because it is a new one out! But...it looks pretty interesting!
I just now saw a another gadget that I haven't seen but REALLY need to get for Cindy Salmonella. It is a tuna drainer thing...just the size of a tuna can...you just popin in the can and press...she really needs one I'm sure!

Hope someone else already has one of the pasta cookers Bev...so that way we can have some first hand info!!!

I also wanted to ask is anyone has any of the new Tupperware pieces called "flat out"? They are REALLY neat...I may go on their web site and look at them a little closer....

Inquiring minds NEED to know!

They are bowls that flatten out for storing. They pop up to use...but you can pop them out to make different sizes of bowls. I particularly like that they flatten out for storage since I have limited space!

(sorry Bev...didn't mean to get off your topic [kissies] )

Instead of an inquiring mind I think I have a tangential mind because I can't stay on topic. I have seen the expandable tupperware tops but not the bottoms. A friend who has the tops thinks they are great.

Bev, there isn't many Tupperware items that I have ever been dissapointed with...they are just kind of pricey. BUT...they last forever so that does justify the price I guess...and they have a lifetime warrenty and they really stand by that. I have had them replace lids to items that were 20 yrs old...you can't hardly beat that kind of a deal!

I used to run a group home and for some reason all my clients wanted to have Tupperware parties so we ended up with a ton of it (had to buy at every party plus all my b-day and Christmas gifts for a couple of years was Tupperware - until they moved on to Princess House Crystal). When we moved I got rid of a lot of it but have continued to buy replacement lids over the years. I have peices that are 25+ years old. It is a good product.

That sounds like me Bev...the only thing I DON'T like about Tupperware...is the very odd colors they have always picked for their items...I mean some REALLY funky colors for kitchen items. I went to their web site and priced the flat out bowls....Yeah...I wont be adding them to my collection...but they sure look like a fun item!!!!

I know we haven't heard about anyone haveing the pasta cooker...but I will let you know ALL abotu it next time I see that infamercial...I'm getting one!!! As a matter of fact, I think the one I saw, if you buy one you get one free...so PM me your address and I will send you one!!! Can't beat a deal like that Bev...but hey...at least we will KNOW if they work or not!!!

I am such a sucker for that stuff!

We got one of those for my f~i~l, he loves it..
it was in a fundraiser for school....
he takes the top off of the tuna, slides this
top over the can, turns it upside down, and squeezes it, all the juice runs out and it's straight tuna...
He really likes it..
*and it was only $5.oo, so we got it for a small
Christmas gift from one of his grandboys...*

Thanks for the link Weezie - I re-read the whole thing and I was wrong there was nothing in there about pasta makers (unless I missed it again)
