Hello from Milwaukee, I came upon this site looking for some advise about a gardenia plant that my husband and I brought in for the winter, it's leaves are turning yellow and dropping. We are both beginning gardeners, my husband more than I. My basement looks like a jungle with all of his cuttings and "wintering" plants. Anyway, the gardenia did absolutly wonderful this summer outside, so I am assuming it is not getting enough sunlight in the house. I have it in the living room and was wondering if it would do better downstairs under the lights? I grew up in California and terribly miss gardenia's so I would hate to see it die. Thanks for your help.

Heather Cox Welcome to the forum from Texas. While I don't have info you need I would guess you need it under lights. I have my Hibiscus in the house under lights and they are doing fine blooming and the like. If you post this over in Plants and flowers or in House plants there will be more people that can give you the info you are looking for. Maybe Will Creed or Bill will check in and tell you what you need to knw. Again welcome to the Garden Helper I am glad your here.

Hi Heather and welcome to the forum. I have never grown gardenia's but would love to as it is my mom's favorite flower and I am sure would bring fond memories. Hope you get a good answer and to see you around more.
