Hi, my name is Paula and I joined this group just a few mins ago...I have been addicted to this gardening thingie for about 3 years so I have a long way to go as far as learning all about it goes....I have many special interests but as you can tell by my user name, I LOVE LILIES....Stargazers being a special favorite...
At the moment, I have six small gardens I am trying on for size...A woodland garden, a succulent garden, a butterfly garden, a sun garden, a shade garden, and a container garden....As you can tell, I have given lots of things a chance at growing for me and some of them actually worked out well...Some others (poor dears) have moved on to the Garden in the Sky but not in vain...It is all a learning experience and I am open to all the knowledge I can pack into my old brain...
I love talking (hey, I am female: what can I say?)so this garden site looks like a good fit to me...I am eager to begin getting to know all of you and for you to learn about me....I am 54 (soon to be 55) and I think the second half of life is turning out to be a lot of fun!!!

Hi Paula - -

Sounds like you will fit it very nicely here in the nuthouse! Errrrr... I mean gardening group! [Big Grin]

I have a question for you - I planted some stargazer lilies for my mom a year ago, and this year I happened to be at their house when the seed pods were ripe for picking. Have you ever grown them from seeds? Any suggestions as to how?

Do come and visit us in the banter hall - it keeps us going during the hiatus from outdoor planting for those of us in the snowbelt.

Plant n pots:
I am sorry to say I have never grown Stargazers (or any lilies) from seeds...If you can figure out how, let me know!!!
Right now I am trying something a friend gave me she called a pumpkin tree...The little fruits are supposed to resemble baby pumpkins...I have two seedlings bravely trying to make it in their pots...I will let you know how they do!!!
I have the hardest time getting things to grow from seeds and this is a real achievement for me....lol...It is even harder for me to get a cutting to start.. [tears]
