thanks everyone...and she is a good little model, she loves to try clothes on.
She wore it to school today, now it'll give her two and hopefully I can wash one wear one when she needs it.
I saw this lepard print fur back about a month ago and she just loves the lepard print, so I got like a yard and half. ran me right around 10.00 bucks. Then I was so pleased when I got the long jacket and a hood out of it. The lining is a piece I had laying around from back in pageant times for the oldest child.
I got my other two little poodle skirts made today, one purple and one pink. Most everyone is doing theirs out of cotton. They are still really cute.
now all I have to work on is the piece my mom has for ashley for christmas. I guess I'll get that tomorrow.

Mel...pattern...hummm....yes, I used a pattern. I actually used 2. One was a dress pattern (which realy looked nothing like the little coat and I used a hood pattern off a pattern that was too small. I enlarged that to fit and just sort of winged the rest. I knew what I wanted. So I just made it.
Cindy, of course you can sew....I'll teach you if you want. You are way to talented not to know how to sew.
I've been sewing since I was 10, my mom taught me how and when I started nit picking everything she made for me...I started making my own. She decided I was good enough to let go on it.

You are so clever, you sound just like my daughter. I taught her to sew but me I'm a pattern and direction follower all the way. She can just envision something and adapt from several different patterns just like you. She gets so frustrated with me because I have to follow each step and my mind just doesn't work as creatively as yours and hers.
We are undertaking a huge project right now, she is getting married in August and we are sewing two bridesmaids dresses, one junior bridesmaid dress(my nine y/o Jocelyn) one flower girl dress, three mens and two little boys vests and ties(we want the men to have fancy vests and ties instead of the traditional rented tux) and Aimee's bridal gown!

Belinda...I am sitting here wondering why in the world you don't take in sewing orders instead of working outside the home when you have to? It might cost a little bit to advertise at first but man...people will pay for hand made clothing items...even alterations...have you thought about that???? Just a thought.... I am doing some sewing...(haven't started just yet) for a friend that needed some work done...and I tell you people will pay for it!!!

Vanessa, most people are too hard to please. I use to sew some for the public, most people want to pay wal mart prices for something that would run them 3 or 4 hundred at a dress shop. I use to make little girl pageant dresses and I sold those for 400 each way back then, but you have to be in where you see what they are wearing to do those, plus alot of that has died down in this area.
Mel, last time I did a wedding, my baby sitter (for my oldest--her daughter got married) my oldest who was 6 at that time was a minture bride I made an exact copy of her wedding dress for my daughter to wear, then just give it to her to hang with her dress. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it. It was beautiful. Then I helped the brides mother make 10 brides mades dresses. I haven't done a wedding in years. I bet your daughter's will be beautiful.

Well...you certainly don't need to make & sell things for Wal~Mart prices...your work is much too good!! My mother was a seamstress and people never minded paying for here work. It was exceptional..she made the most beautiful Barbie clothes for us...even lined the coats, put tiny zippers in things...they were the best. I hpe you can find a pic of the little wedding dress...I would love to see it Belinda!

I'll see if I can't find a pic of the little wedding dress...breath taking it was...even had a detachable train, just like the brides.
