Well it rained all week and I really wanted to do something in the yard this weekend. Weather was still bad So I Made a 30 Gallon Tub Water Garden for the deck. I guess I just can't let go of container gardening even with the new yard.

I planted a Water Lily and some Sweetflag and then potted a Water Canna Pretoria to go beside the tub. Walmart had a Kit with the plants in it for about 10 bucks the plants are in baskets and ready to go. I had an old bottom half of a plastic 55 gallon drum laying around. Then I added a small pump and fountain I still got the set up in the house Untill it gets a little warmer. Now I think I will get a filtration system as well as some oxygenating plants so I can put a few Comet Goldfish in it.

This will make a nice addition this summer outside. My bedroom is upstairs and I have a wrap around deck off the bedroom. From The deck I will be able to look down at the koi pond when It is constructed. And past that will be the Vegetable Garden. And I am still looking at building the larger water garden in the yard.

This is the 5th straight day of rain. Its flooding down here in Sunny Florida!

I thought of that! [thinker] The whole apparatus is constructed on a 4 wheel dolly. Of course I didn't think of it untill I had it full of water! Had a struggle but got it in the dolly. And I measured the door to make sure it will clear.

I hung a row of shop lights above it this morning. Does anyone think I should apply Aluminum foil to the walls around it for reflective purposes? Or should I just wait for the warm weather and move it outside then?
