Today I went to the most beautiful wedding I have ever attended.
My mom and dad were married again.
They are almost 70 years old, and have loved each other since they were in high school. They divorced after almost 20 years of marriage, and eventually each of them married someone else. And, eventually they were both divorced. They couldn't get over each other.
I won't go into detail, but my dad is very ill. He wanted to marry my mother again before he died.
So, today in a little church, as my two nephews walked my mom down the aisle to my dad, my brother played a beautiful song, "We're Starting Over...While We Still Have Time"...and I cried like a baby!

Ahhh, Cindy, that's so sweet! I don't even know your parents and I'm crying! May they treasure every moment they have together and be an inspiration to all whose lives they touch. Thank you for sharing your parents' story with us, Cindy, for through you, they touch our lives too.

okay, I am bawling now!!!! How sweet and so wonderful. My husband and I divorced after 5 years of marriage and then realized we couldn't (and didn't want to)live without each other and re-married 3 yrs ago....sometimes you just don't realize what you have! Now we don't EVER take each other for granted, we know first hand what it is like not to have each other. I think it is SO wonderful that your parents realized the same thing and FIXED it! Congrats to them!!!!!!!!!!

i posted a reply to this yesterday, but my computer ate it, so here i go again...
you (and your parents) are so fortunate. my parents never got over each other, but didn't figure it how to fix it in time. my father just couldn't get it together, and when momma died, he was never the same till he died (although he did marry a couple of more times after that).
congratulate your parents, and let them know everyday how much you love them!

Thank you for the congratulations to my parents. I'm going to print this topic out and show it to them.
My dad is in a wheelchair, but he stood with crutches for the ceremony. I was going to post a little picture of them kissing, but it's too dark. I do have a pretty decent picture of me standing there in my wedding attire (...gray bellbottoms, my old lucky skateboarding shirt, and Doc Martins!), crying, if anyone wants to see it!
