Nigel, I recently moved from Kentucky to North Florida. I had purchased a Christmas cactus in Kentucky last November. It was full of blooms and buds. About three to four days after I brought it home, the blooms and buds just started falling off. I figured I just did not have the "know how" for the plant. When we moved here in July, I hung it outside under an oak tree, pretty much just gave up on it and watered it only when I remembered it was there! Around the early part of November, I was walking around the yard and stopped to look at it. It was just full of buds! I was so excited. It bloomed and bloomed all through November and December. I brought it in when the temps dropped close to freezing, which down here, was probably only a handful of nights. After about the first week of January it stopped blooming. Last week we had some freezing temps and I brought all the plants inside including it, and saw that it has more buds. For me, I guess ignoring this plant is the key! Good luck with yours and send us some pics.
Dodge - please post some pics. Mine is pink. I didn't know they came in so many colors. I would love to see yours. You must have several?
here is my white christmas cactus.. december I think.
enjoy

Oh, sorry. My bad. I usually view anyone on this forum as "genderless" unless I see a post with "my husband, or wife". I'm sorry, and I really hope you are not offended. I have been mistaken for a man before because "Linny" can be a man or woman. Let me correct that right away.
Okay you just find that peach and yellow one missy....
you know the rest...
Please forgive me. I have enjoyed communicating with you and would love to continue.

Barb, I only have the one CC it bloomed in Nov and I am surprised that it is blooming again. I thought I would not see it bloom again until next November.
I have alot of blooms also. I could not deal with winter if I did not have my inside garden.
