First I'd just like to say thank you to all who helped me figure out that I have a rubber tree! Here's another mystery plant I have, again, given to me from a friend. The pictures aren't the greatest but you can see the flowers well enough. The flowers shown aren't fully grown yet though, this plant has a little surprise. At first you think "Oh, what lovely purple trumpet flowers" then one day a little bright pink protrusion peeks out from the middle of the purple flower and grows out almost like a tongue sticking out at you until finally it is a fushcia trumpet growing out of the purple trumpet. So cool!

Thanks Triss, after looking it up I think it IS a lipstick plant, a Mosa Lisa one. I can't wait for these flowers to fully bloom (even if there are only four so far...). It's such a lovely plant, I hope I can keep it alive!

I hope you do as well. I have one and am hoping it survives the trip home from the nursery. It seems to be in a holding pattern right now. Please keep us updated!

I have a lipstick plant. As long as it gets sufficient light, it should bloom it's heart out! Mine has grown well over the side of the pot and when it blooms, it gets covered with flowers--its just beautiful.
