This was my 'find' last week - a whole pot of posies thrown out in the driveway beside us.

I just popped the whole works into tulsi corner.

Now - what is all that stuff - anybody?

Guess they're annuals - I'll clip off seeds soon.

But it would be nice if somebody know what it is.

The tall grass-like plant is draceana, not hardy in our zone, but you could try taking it indoors. The purple daisy like flower in the bottom picture appears to be some kind of brachyscome, also an annual in our parts. The trailing plant with very small leaves I think is bacopa.

i concur with draceana.

the viney thing looks like it might be dead nettle (aka lamium)

the blue flower thing looks familiar - don't know it's name tho.

none of them will be perennial in your area...well, the lamium might be. not the draceana tho - definitely put that in a pot and take it inside.

the flower, once it's identified may be perennial there, if not, then you can pot that and take it in.

it's a lovely combo! what a shame it was thrown out!

Not with the intent of confusing things, but... the one that might be a draceana could also be some type of yucca or nolina, and the blue flowers look like asters to me.

The grass like thing looks like a Cordyline Australis (Cabbage Palm) to me? Check out http://www.letsgogardening.co.uk/Information/EG/plants/cordyline.htm for info.

OK - now the tall one - what you're calling the grass thing - I figured that for an annual - Adam's Needle, some people call them.

I kinda' thought alysum for the whispy stuff.

This is great, everyone. Now, I gotta' go looking for all of these names on the web - get it straight just what and bring in what I need to.

I'll definitely save seeds from everything. Maybe just put 'em all in a bag together and let 'em rip next spring.

Yes, a shame, but the pot was broken so I guess they figured 'heck with it'.

A couple of people moved out of there about 3 weeks ago, and I think they lived up top of the house and probably had that pot on the roof patio.

They probably just left the pot of plants there and the owner threw it out.

Which is fine by me.

I'm pretty sure that the purple daisy-like flower is Brachyscome. We sell that plant where I work. It's often used in mixed pots.
Google it and check out the images.
