Can anyone identify this flowering tall (shrub?) Three of my neighbors have them and they don't even garden, yet they all look beautiful! I guess they are VERY low maintenance! Thanks!

Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus)...very low maintenance and a real work horse in any garden setting. Right now, due to the heat, my Rose of Sharons and Mexican Petunias are the ONLY things reliably blooming.

Thanks so much! It's really beautiful. I was looking around and realized that even more than three of my neighbors have it! Six do (that I can see from here)! I'm thinking that someone must've planted them all in here at once since I live in townhouses. I really like them, too bad I don't have one! Instead the person who lived here before me put in this patio that makes my patio kind of hook up to my next door neighbor's - a patio in the center of our patios! And now she has her table there so I can't use that space (which she never uses). I bet they killed the Rose of Sharon to do it. [Frown]
