Member # 10062 posted                       if it smells strongly of any type of herb, then my guess is that it IS basil. if the smell is weak ,then, most likely it is not any herb. Even if you have to pick a small corner of a leave and smell it like that. Member # 9000 posted                       It does have a strong "herby" smell, but I don't have any dried Basil to compare it to. The leaves are smooth, but not really glossy. Is this biggest Basil bush you've ever seen? HA.. My wife had this packet of seeds that wasn't marked. Not knowing what they were I stuck them in a pot and just did my thing... Even the neighbors come over and pluck the leaves and it just keeps on growing.. That's all I did. The next thing I know, BAM.. I'll be trimming the flowers off the tops soon. I hear that when they flower it takes away from the taste and aroma.. I'm not too sure this is true though.. My ENTIRE concrete patio smells like basil on a breezy day.
