It seems as though I'm attracted to plants & flowers that don't come with ID tags!
I know that the orange one is a Calceolaria (AKA the slipper, pouch or pocketbook plant), but what is the crepe paper looking one? I've been calling it an Aphid flower, cuz they seem to like this better than they do my roses! (Last night they were yellow, but this morning the blossoms looked GREEN with their little friends covering them!)
I think they look sort of like Maple leaves. (The blossoms are all wilty looking now, because I brought the plant in & sprayed all the aphid with my kitchen sink sprayer & sent them all down the drain! There are several new buds coming on though, so if these don't spring back, there'll be more to take their place.)
The blossom petals look a lot like Iceland Poppies, but I KNOW this isn't a Poppy!)

Patty, Could it be some kind of hibiscus? My keaves are sorta similar to that.

Another possibility is Figleaf Hollyhock, Alcea Ficifolia. Check out the flowers\foliage on this website... http://www.zaai-site.nl/html/lijst.htm

Triss, it has that thingy sticking out in the middle of the blossom like a Hibiscus, but the leaves aren't right.
Rosie, I didn't get very far on your link, because I don't read Greek or German, or whatever language that site has! I did a Google Image on Figleaf Hollyhock though, & they look similar.., but, when these blossoms die back, the hips don't form the type of seeds that Hollyhocks make. Also, I think Hollyhock plants are much larger... aren't they?
After a bit of cruising around on Bill's GH pages, I'm beginning to think that it might be some variety of Abutilon. How the heck do you pronounce THAT?... I see more research ahead! (It's a tough one!)
Anyway, I'm still not sure, though... & still looking for confirmation. (I can't possibly be the only person around here who has this plant!)
