It seems as though I'm attracted to plants & flowers that don't come with ID tags!

I know that the orange one is a Calceolaria (AKA the slipper, pouch or pocketbook plant), but what is the crepe paper looking one?
 -
I've been calling it an Aphid flower, cuz they seem to like this better than they do my roses! [Mad] (Last night they were yellow, but this morning the blossoms looked GREEN with their little friends covering them!)

Patty, the yellow one made me think it might be a type of Abutilon but I'm just not real sure. Is the foliage similar to a Maple?

Whatever it is, it sure is pretty and I want one!

Here are the leaves...
 -

I think they look sort of like Maple leaves. [dunno] (The blossoms are all wilty looking now, because I brought the plant in & sprayed all the aphid with my kitchen sink sprayer & sent them all down the drain! There are several new buds coming on though, so if these don't spring back, there'll be more to take their place.) -

The blossom petals look a lot like Iceland Poppies, but I KNOW this isn't a Poppy!)

Another possibility is Figleaf Hollyhock, Alcea Ficifolia. Check out the flowers\foliage on this website...

Triss, it has that thingy sticking out in the middle of the blossom like a Hibiscus, but the leaves aren't right.

Rosie, I didn't get very far on your link, because I don't read Greek or German, or whatever language that site has! [perplexed] I did a Google Image on Figleaf Hollyhock though, & they look similar.., but, when these blossoms die back, the hips don't form the type of seeds that Hollyhocks make.
Also, I think Hollyhock plants are much larger... aren't they? -

After a bit of cruising around on Bill's GH pages, I'm beginning to think that it might be some variety of Abutilon. [dunno]
How the heck do you pronounce THAT?... I see more research ahead! [Roll Eyes]
(It's a tough one!)
[nutz]

Anyway, I'm still not sure, though... & still looking for confirmation. (I can't possibly be the only person around here who has this plant!)

I love the sweet scents wafting in the breeze. I stop to admire the vibrant colors of all living things. And people think me odd. Then ODD I am!!!
