this is SO pretty! it's in my neighbors yard and i WANT it (i took a cutting from it the other day as there didn't seem to be a way to split it. the base of the stems was woody and i didn't want to chop in to it. i hope it roots!)

what is it?

when this started growing, it kind of looked like the mums that i have out front. i'm not to sure, now tho...

sorry it's hard to see...i still haven't gotten my camera fixed and got one of the one-use cameras...and, of course, the last pic i took - which was more close-up - didn't come out

can you see the small green thing under the peony?

The first one looks like Joe Pye Weed...Eupatorium
purpureum...gorgeous plants. Can't tell about the second plant...my eyes aren't that good. :-)

thx!

googled and it's spirea - i'm not sure if it's the japenese or bumalda, tho. from the descriptions i've read, it's most probably the bumalda...

the other, i know it's hard to see. can't even borrow the neighbors camera (which has a nice macro setting) because she broke it last week...

when it first popped up - it was in more than a few spots and it did resemble the mums. as it's gotten bigger, the leaf shape hasn't stayed the same and it doesn't look like the mums at all now...i'd pulled most of it up because i thought it was a weed and then i thought maybe not so i left a few...this is the only one left.
