This looks very familiar, and I can't place it....It is another plant that was here when we bought the house last year. I don't recall seeing flowers on it at any time but it's difficult to keep managed. It tries to take over. Can someone tell me what it is?

A couple of shots of the leaves

 -

As you can see it's trying to spread out already...It's also in another section. I kept it under control last year by simply pulling it out like a weed.
 -

P.S. I don't know what the tuft of grass is either, but it stays put, nice round tuft and looks neat and tidy all the time....can't remember if it got any flowers or not.

Does it have tiny blue flowers? Kinda looks like my forget-me-nots.

No flowers of any kind, and I don't remember it getting any last year. It looks like it should flower though....I just figured it was already past it's bloom stage when we bought the house, but nothing so far this year either.

Looks a bit like this stuff
 -
I forget what it's called exactly, but it's a bellflower and it's very invasive and flowers purple in the early summer.
The grassy stuff could be Flag Iris. It also looks alot like my Stella D'Oro daylily. [dunno]

I love the ferns too....I'll have to post a pic from under the deck sometime. It's really pretty. I've thought about putting a waterfall under there through the ferns, but that won't be for a few years.
I'm still hoping that someone can ID the invasive plant...It kind of looks like the bellflower foliage, but I'm not certain. If it flowers I will post more pics. I'm going to have to get out there and dig it back to a reasonable area this weekend. Next to the tuft (on the left) there's a rose bush and you can't even see it in the pic. grrr [Frown] ...Maybe I'll try putting some edging in and see if that will help keep it to the one side....at least until I figure out what it is. It has nice foliage. I just wish it'd stay in one area.

Follow up with Flower pictures! Apparently I was correct all along...My memory DOES stink! LOL! Just look at the beautiful flowers on these now. Unfortunately I still have NO idea what they are. Maybe someone can ID them for me with the pic of the flowers?

The second plant is Bloody Dock, a Rumex, I forget which one. I think it's related to sorrel.

Ok, I found the tag...it's Rumex Sanguineus. It's also known as Bloodwort and Red Veined Dock. It is used the same way as spinach.
