Hi, I plan on starting seeds in the house, under florescence lights, this spring. I've done this in the past and made out ok with starting from seeds. I usually plant annuals and last year I had a lot of marigolds. But this year I would like to plant some annuals that smell good, so that I could cut them and bring them into the house. The marigolds were pretty but didn't really smell all that good. Does anyone have any ideas of easy annuals to grow that smell good? I live in Maine so I don't transplant the little critters until the last of May.
Thanks, Dennis

I have some sun but not much. So I will give you my suggestions that will work in Sun or some sun. verbena Alyssum Nicotiania
I would not limit myself to annuals. If you really want fragrance you need to purchase some bulbs and have lilies. They are easy, fast and come back every year and you would have more every year.

Certain colors??
Or anything, as long as it smells nice??

I have a few more, will add in a bit..
Thanks Weezie, Color doesn't matter but I was thinking about putting them in vases.

even though they aren't annuals.. I love Lily's of the Valley!!! They smellll heavenly, and have stems that are quite sturdy and long but short. *4" or 5"*
But like I said earlier.. The old fashion Sweet Peas are beautiful too.. Nice stems too..
And even though again, this is not an annual.. *it's a perennial* but I Love LEMON TYHME... ***or really any of the lemon scented ones.. balm, grass..lemon is a great pick~me~up!!!***
Helitrope is nice... Nasturiums are nice too...*certain colors*
And yes, to the dianthus (cheddar~pinks) can smell spicey like...
