To keep the little hummer's from getting nervous, I backed up into the big leaves of a Rhododendron bush a little bit which is located directly across for the hummingbird feeder to get these two shots.

Great pictures! Thanks for sharing them! I've never seen a Hummer feeder like that one! Where did you get it? Do they seem to like it better than any of the other ones?

That type of feeder is super easy to clean. It doesnt leak because the feeding holes are on top above the nectar. The come from 8 ozs up to 16 ozs (I'l have to double check the ozs) That one looks like a Hummzinger by Aspects. i use a similar one that my birds love. If you get that shape just be sure the top isnt completely flat. See how its a bit angled? The flat ones may lead to beak injury if hummer tries to fly away quickly.

Wrennie & Thorny, thanks for the information, but can either of you tell me who carries them? Do any of the big chain stores have them! I've never seen them at any of the places I shop and if they're easy to clean that's definitely a big plus in my book!

The saucer type hummingbird feeder is great! I love it because they don't leak or drip like the other kinds with the long feeding tube that hangs down which always attracted ants on the ground beneath it from the sugar water. On this one, the top just lifts off for easy filling/cleaning like wrennie mentioned with 4 small feeding holes with yellow flower pedals around them on the top. It's hanging with a small "s" hook on a Shepard's hook.The 3 hummingbirds that come to it seem to like it just fine, in fact, they all fight over feeding rights to it! The thin plastic circle that goes around it lets them perch while feedind, great for picture taking!I think this one is 6 oz and it's an inch deep, also have an 8 oz one.

I'm not sure who sells them, my husband brought them home. He works for an antique place and found them in a house. I do have a website for this type of feeder, but I'm not sure if I can post it on the forum or not.

Thanks Porter! I'm always at the Ace Hardware here in town because that's where I buy most of my bird seed, but I've never seen them at that one. I'll have to check and see if there's an Ace in Fairview Heights or else I'll look up a store the next time I'm in St. Louis. I've been anxious to get over to Amighetti's anyway since it's been a quite a while since I had one of their awesome sandwiches.

another possibility is sappington garden shop. they have tons of stuff...a little pricey. Amighetti's... i like southwest market over on brannon and southwest, really good and you chose your fillings. try it sometime!
