Has anyone ever heard of squash bores? It was a first for me. I was told this year by s/o that I could not plant squash in the garden d/t these squash bores.
One more question is Lime good in any vegetable garden? Are there any vegetables it would effect?
Also, I am in NC if it helps with the squash problems.
Any tips would be helpful!
Thanks,
Holly

Holly, squash vine borers are a real problem, but I don't think it's a reason to not plant any in the garden. Also, lime really shouldn't be applied unless you know for a fact that your soil pH is low. It doesn't directly affect plants, although some forms of limestone add valuable micronutrients to the soil.
