Great Peonies, I love the color. Which ones are they do you know?
Mrs. Bradley,
You can have peonies a plenty. If you have an overhang or arbour or something like that to protect them from heavy rains so the blooms don't shatter. They will like your cooler temperatures better than they like my hot temperatures.
Rosepetal,
Peonies like alphalph pellets like what you feed a rabbit. They also need to be buried almost exactly 1 inch below the soil or they won't bloom. And they like a slightly acidic soil of pH 6.5. I hope this information helps you to get blooms on your peonies. I have 4 that haven't bloomed for me yet. It's year 3 next year and I'm so looking forward to having loads of flowers.

I think I planted them right, just may have to wait another year to see the blooms. I'll see if I can get some of those pellets you say they like and then see maybe....
bbbbbbbbb For this "New Year" help me to be kinder and more loving to all around me, I pray.

Your peonies are beautiful dodge. I have to get some peony bushes. I moved into my house last summer and the lady that lived there before me was not a gardener at all so the only plants that she had were hostas. I need to find some good perennials for my zone and start planting because I love flowers.

Yes dodge, I do like annuals also. I bought quite a few of them this year but didn't start any from seed. I am kind of new at this so I have no idea when would be the best time to collect the seeds. I did get some seeds off of my mom's cosmos though. I was look at them the other day and I was deadheading them for her and I noticed all of the seeds so I took them home. Now, do you I put them in an envelope until next year? Do they need to be in a cool place or anything like that? I am not sure how to store them.

To make sure the seeds are dry, store them in paper envelopes......... I take an put my envelopes into a plastic grape container with lots of holes for air.. Keeps mice away...... If you have a sunny window some where you can set the envelopes there, without the container , till you think they are dry...... I am making you a collection to send.. Got the address...... Remember they seed must be clear dry to pick.. COsmos will fall right into your hand if dry..
Good luck and watch the mail.
