It probably seems funny but I can find the watering requirements for this plant. I have some seeds for it and really need to know since I have to hand water anything that isn't drought tolerent in the garden. And that caused me all kinds of problems last year. So this year I'm hoping to place all the water needy plants together in an easily located space. And when that space is full the rest have to go into the seed exchange. So please if you know the watering requirements let me know. Thankyou.

look up Carolina Jessamine (Gelsemium sempervirens)

I sure appreciate the help. I have over 100 types of seeds to research and sometimes it's hard to find the watering requirements even after I've lood at several sites.

TK, I have some Carolina Jasmine (doesn't have a smell like Confederate Jasmine) and once it's established I don't water it at all. I have some out by the road on a fence, that's away from the house and all through the summer drought I didn't water it at all and it bloomed like crazy. Are you putting it on a fence or a trellis?

It can grow like a monster....but I love it.I didn't move with mine,but did take a start and it bloomed a lil last year,but will bloom lots better this year.If its roots are shaded it will drink less water and also mulched.mine had engulfed..inhaled...consummed.the trellis it grew on and covered a small 10 ft tree.It grew in a old rabbit coop spot.
Its not a good shot was a bad camera was BAREly a 1 megapixel.
I have it growing now on chainlink fence.I've seen a house back here that has it frameing their trailor on the end.has a round larger window and they keep the window trimmed out.I love it cause its evergreen.I don't always notice the smell,but it does have a small one.

Thankyou about the information about the roots that's very important and will help alot. I'm thinking where the slope is particularly steep it will provide a pretty ground cover. And since the landlord doesn't want anything planted there and lets the weeds do whatever they want in that area this will be a perfect solution. I'll let it plant itself lol.

yes, confederate smells wonderful! i have some growing by the walkway to the house from the driveway and it is wonderful!
