hello everyone. we are from southern ontario canada, we have several hibiscus plants, some we are able to keep outside all winter, others have to be brought in. could someone tell me the proper way of keeping them inside.

The easiest way to overwinter them inside is to let them go semi-dormant by putting them in a cool(not freezing) place and watering infrequently. They will lose most or all of their leaves and look bad, but once spring arrives you trim off any dead wood, put them back outside and in no time they will grow new leaves. The other option is more difficult...you want to try to give them the same conditions they had when growing outside. Put them in the sunniest place you have, increase the humidity by setting them on a platter of rocks with water and water when needed.
