My jade plant leaves are looking odd, they are nice and firm and round, but they have red edges on most leaves. Is this normal???? [dunno]

hi pppLANT MAN, welcome to the garden helper. your jade, getting red edges to the leaves, is a good thing. that means that the plant is getting lots of good light, and is healthy. most jades grown as house plants don't get the red edges because they just don't get enough light. kind of like a tomato. if it doesn't get enough light to ripen, it will stay green. you must be doing something right [thumb]

Yes! I was soo excited when one of my jade's finally got that red tinge, as ideally that's what they are supposed to look like. Congrats to you! Have you ever seen a jade bloom? That may sound silly to jade enthusiasts, but I had no idea that they flowered, and they are so gorgeous when they do. I heard in addition to said coloring, a jade that blooms is a healthy one as well. Hope you get to see some! [flower]
