I have always been really horrible at growing things, but I get so excited when something does grow. I started an avacado and it is growing great. I just love it. I started a pinapple too, but my puppies tore it up, I was really upset, but I can always start another one. Recently my grandma died and I got a rubber plant from the funeral. I love it, but I know nothing about it, and I really don't want it to die. My friend and I were also wondering if there was any way to get a start off of it. I would like to do that someday if it is possible for my daughter who dearly loved her great grandma. I repotted it because even though I don't know a lot, I could tell that it was in a pot that was to small. I haven't been able to find much info online and most of the sites that pop up are these stupid porn sites. Please help. Black Thumb

The most common mistake is unnecessary repotting. I am willing to bet that your rubber plant did not need repotting and that you will soon have problems with it because of the repotting. I suggest that you undo the repotting and move it back to its original pot. I know this is not the conventional wisdom, but trust me on this.
I have written an article on propagating plants that includes information on air-layering which is an appropriate way to get new plants from a rubber plant.
Provide lots of bright light - it must be close to an unobstructed window. Water thoroughly only when the top quarter of the soil is dry.

Hi! I found some not porn sites that may help. I know you can take cuttings that will root easily and that they need a good amount of indirect light not to get leggy, and if you never water them (like my father did his) they'll die. Someone here will tell you more, I'm sure. Sorry about your grandmother, good luck with the plant.
