Hi--
I have a small to medium Schefflera which sits in an east window, behind my kitchen sink. Lately, it is sporting a new look... kind of like tiger stripes. -- It is getting colder here in Denver, and I wonder if the stripes could be from the cold window??? Or not enough fertilizer???
HELP!
Thanks,
Nancy in Denver

ok.got book.its Arboricola. Its the dwarf one,but still as a dwarf can grow up to 20 ft(like FL or AU or somewhere tropical)leaves are about 3 inches, rounded tips, yellowish flowers& can turn bronzeish with age(I've never seen one age,so can't say as to bronzeish)Sis says in parts of FL they are trees(like in the keys...if they made it)their trunks are woody& mulitbranched in frost free areas grown in ground.& she said if wind blew it sideways it would continue to grow that way.
as to stripes?is it possible its variegated?(I'm cooking...one named one is"Worthii) the variegation would be a creamy yellow& it fades in low light.

AND BILL [wavey] Me& sis in disagreement.she thinks the antinophylla is hardy for me as in a perienal that dies back& returns or cut back and return.she claims my climate is "mild" enough. My book states HZ 10-12& I'm a 9 HZ or as noted for houseplants& it is not noted, nor mentions frost......sooo...whatcha say [dunno]

Here is picture of variegated
