About a month ago I ordered one of these bushes, and because it was so cold out I planted it in a pot and put it out in my sun room. Well needless to say it is looking pretty sad. My question is should I plant it outside or What. I don't have a clue about this plant. Can anyone out there help me. Tell me the care of this plant, Know as the Arkansas Amsonia, (Amsonia hubrechtii)

Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Hi Dee Dee,
I grow Amsonia hubrechtii and keep it in a part shade area. It really gets pretty in the fall with it's golden color. You can cut it back to 12" after flowering to keep it bushy. It likes part shade and a more acid soil. It will lose it's leaves in winter. It will eventually get to be 3' by 3'. You might want to move it out of full sun if that's where it is and try not to let it dry out. Cut it back if it's looking tatty. You should be able to plant it outside when the soil warms up. Let it get used to the change in temps slowly when you start to put it out side.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
