Hi there,

Newbie here.

I recently bought a orange lily (the tag says its a 'Lilium Orange Pixie') and I even managed to repot it.

I'm completely hopeless when it comes to gardening.

When I bought it, one flower had bloomed and two more have done so since (I bought it about a week ago). The petals on all three flowers are now turning under. Is this normal? Does it want more/less water? Should it have some special fertiliser? When I repotted it, the potting mix had some fertiliser stuff in it. Something slow release something.

Thanks,

Kate

[wayey] Hi Kate_Robyn, [wayey]
Lilium Orange Pixie
Is this your plant/flower???

If this is it, it's a one time blooming bulb...
Once the flowers are done, I pinch or cut the ends off, so all the energy goes back into the bulb from the stem slowly dying back...
The green will turn to brown and as that dies it puts the "energy or food" for next years flower into the bulb.. DON'T cut anything off until the entire stem is brown..

Your plant will come back again the following year. And they like some organic fertilizers and or soil....

What season is it where you live???
Just curious????

Let us know if that's your plant/flower!!!

Ok, all the petals have fallen off. But I'm still lost. It is seperated into three parts - an orange stick thing, a biggish green bit, then the stick that is attached to the stem of the plant.

Not good with terms.

Where do I cut?

kate_robyn,
Do you remember where the flowers were?
Right there, just snip off the things that might start to look like pod, size of a green bean or pea pod maybe??

If in doubt, the top part that was were all
the flowers were attached to the tall long stem,
nip there, and then leave big tall stem....

Boy, I'd give anything for a pencil and paper, wouldn't you???
I am bad with explaining things too, bare with me.

And keep asking questions if any thing isn't clear for you!!!
