I brought bulbs for both my Mother and myself. This is the first planting of bulbs for both of us. We planted them in late April (Live in Phila, PA). We both have tall leaves (over 2-1/2 feet), mine are strong and straight, My Mom's have fallen over. However, neither have bloomed. We are both feeding them once a week. [gabby]

My glads are just now starting to bloom, so yours should be blooming soon. You may want to stake them, especially if you have the taller kind. All it takes is one good rain and they will fall over and possibly break off. I have the tall ones...they get about 5 ft. tall. I made the mistake last year of not staking them before we had a heavy rain...several of them broke off...so I cut them for inside the house.

Thanks Alan. What part of the Country are you in? My Mother said to ask you if it's too late to stake hers since they're laying down?

Do you think it's possible that she didn't plant them deep enough?

I'm in Tennessee. Since you're farther north yours would probably bloom later than mine. It's not too late to stake them. She should use a stake thats about a foot taller than the foilage so she can tie the flowering stem to the stake when it emerges. This will prevent the stem from breaking off.
