I purchased 2 Arkansas Amsonia from a mail order garden shop,(along with many other plants which I will never do again)!!!! They are not growing as fast as I thought they would. The plants are only about 4 inches tall now, and have been in the ground for 8 weeks. I am in the Atlanta area, so the ground is all clay, but I do amend the soil whenever I plant. Any help would be appreciated. Have lots of questions & problems with my flower garden, but will wait till later to bring them all up. lol..

Your amsonia probably won't grow much this year, but will slowly spread and get taller over the next 2-3 years. Mine was about 6 in. tall when I planted it. It didn't do much the first year, the second year it was about twice the size and the third year it grew considerably more and is now about 2' by 2'.
