Are there any benefits of snails and slugs? Whenever I water or it is dewey in the mornings the snails come alive...I usually go out after I water in the evenings and go on a snail smooshing mission at midnight with a flashlight in hand....was just curious if there was any reason not to eliminate them. They help to break down the debris in the forests, jungles and rainforests. They serve no purpose in a cultivated garden at all.
