I almost walked by this guy,
but something caught my eye.

At closer inspection, I could see that he was eating my yucca leaf! Will he do much damage? This plant was put in at the end of last summer and isn't doing the greatest. It gets full day sun - is there anything I should be doing for it?
Anything to prevent these guys from chewing too much on the leaves?

Thanks!

Not sure at all, Buglady...

I just happened to see him out of the corner of my eye sitting there, and when I took a closer look his mouth was moving all over, so I assumed he was eating. Maybe he was chewing on a mosquito and just resting there?

By the way, Buglady... would you happened to have an answer to my other post "who did this" on the pest forum? [dunno] Any help would be greatly appreciated! [kissies]

I love [Cool] Drangonflies!
They are soooooo beautiful!
Their wings and the colors!
And the way they move..
And their shape.

And they're a good bug. [thumb]

Actually, becuase its butt is curved, i think it might be a mayfly... i donno. Buglady, what do you think?

Either way ^.^ they're both the same thing basicly. Just a mayfly is bigger and has those stripy wings.

It is a dragonfly.. Mayflies at rest hold the wings over their body and are in the order of Ephemeroptera. Dragonflies are in the order Odonata, and feed as adults. Mayfly adults do not feed.. There are a lot of differences between the 2 orders.
