Where I've raked into the trees (somebody will probably move it off, but I'll just rake more in).

Encouraged by Weezie, I'm composting where ever possible - I haven't had the garbage bucket out once since Thursday. I just keep sweeping leaves into my patches.

Keep on sweeping and in the spring you'll have some good soil around those trees! I've done the same thing and it always helps the plants.

Hi Carly,
Just a word of advice.Create your ring around the tree instead of allowing the leaves(or mulch for that matter) to touch the trunk of the tree.Excess moisture against the trunk(from the leaves/mulch) can lead to fungus.
