I am a very new and accidental gardner. A friend gave me four Big Boy tomato plants and I planted them in containers on my condo patio. They are huge, looking like trees. They are taller than me (I'm 5'8") and they are filled with healthy looking tomatoes. I have only had a few ripe ones, although many are finally turning a beautiful red. I'm in Cleveland, Ohio and we have had a rainy, cool summer not conducive to growing. Anyway, I have noticed lots of these little white bugs on the leaves. What are they? and can I do anything about them?

I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you,
Slipdisco in Cleveland, Ohio

Slipdisco,
Hello and Welcome to The Garden Helper's Forum!!
We are very glad you found us!!!

Your bugs sound like white flies???
Got any pictures???

While you're waiting for another gardener to come thru and help you out, do a FORUM SEARCH and type in White Flies, there's several posts on these little critters!!!

Hope this helps!!!

Thanks for welcoming me to the forum! As I stated in my post, I'm new to the gardening world and I'm hooked. I'm looking for a small house to purchase (I hate condo living) and one of my main requirements is a nice yard for gardening.

I will do the search on white flies and see what turns up!

Thanks,
Slipdisco

Slipdisco,
I know on one of the post, Buglady answered something about putting up those yellow *I think* sticky papers around the plant and it attracts them and they get stuck to it!!!
She's our "Offical Buglady"
If you need more help I'll give her a shout!!!
