i got my trough of glads out, now i need to plant something over them. just to cover the dirt and to give the foliage some interest when they start to come up. any ideas anyone? gotta be cheap (maybe something that grows fast from seed?)

Jiffymouse, I agree with Weezie on the alysum, it is the fastest growing seed I know and theres no need to spend the big bucks cause theres so very few seeds in each packet. I have found that those super cheap 10 cent packets that you see everywhere work just as good, especially if you just want something to fill in. I always buy them when I see them, and sprinkle them all over my stone deck and let them just come up wild and yes they do reseed well too.

sorry weezie, i saw your question and didn't even give it a third though! the glads are mixed colors (wal-mart's cheapest mix) and the other things are:

  • sweet william - mixed pinks/reds
    zinnia - mixed
gypsophila - pinkish white? (not sure, pic isn't clear)
    alyssum - white

Jiff,
I was thinking that if you knew the colors
you could color match up flowers, like if the
glads were Orange, you could use the orange and yellow zinnia's, or you know know what I mean!!

Did you see how tall the gypsophilla gets??
They might be pretty tall!!
