I...I just couldn't HELP myself...I mean, they looked so homely and pathetic sitting there with their $2 price tags...like little puppy dogs with big brown eyes just begging me to take them home.....

I stopped by the grocery store yesterday, with the intent of picking up ONLY avocados, tomatoes, and sour cream....why Why WHY does the floral department have to be right there, in the FRONT of the store...just as you walk in??? WHY?????

6" potted plants (in decent plastic pots, I might add)....6" plants 5 for $10 (regular price $9.99 except the silver fern that is normally $13.00!) Hmmmmmmmm....$2 for a 6" potted plant that would probably start looking pathetic in the poor grocery store in a few days - my justification! hahaha....a 3 stem Dracaena Marginata - in beautiful shape....A 4 stem croton about a foot tall, also in beautiful shape....A 4 stem rubber tree - relatively short but beautiful...a silver fern with three new fronds growing....cordyline, anthurium, other miscellaneous dracaenas, some other ferns...they were just calling out to me...REALLY!!!!!!! [Big Grin] I picked up 5 to add to my collection...The only one that duplicated something I have right now is the anthurium...needed a flowering plant for my guest room [Cool] oh, and I have a croton on my desk at work, so the new croton doesn't count as a duplicate for the house! heh heh heh heh

Can't beat those $$$!!! [thumb]

I do the same thing just for my regular groceries,
I tell my oldest, "Alright, I've got to get like 4 things" and I come out with a cart full,
And he says to me "I thought you only needed 4 things mom, you've got 34 things in there!" [Mad] [perplexed]
I say, well then I don't have to come back
(Unless I forgot something [Big Grin] [Embarrassed] [Frown] )

I hate grocery shopping, I think it's a conspiracy! [Roll Eyes]

I love that ^.^ I was at a greenhouse in concord earlier this month, and i was gonna buy a small 3' ficus with the trunk in a knot for about 30 dollars. So i went to Shaws, cuz my friend who was with me at the time told me it would be cheeper. I found a ficus there for 10 bux ^.^ It is 3.5' tall, and kinda yucky looking, cuz they cut the top down quite a bit for shipping >.< But when i got it back to college, it just fluffed up quite a bit ^.^ Didn't drop any leaves either!

But ya, the whole thing with the floral department in front of the doors is cuz there's more windows there. Plus its easier transport from inside to outside [teacher]
