Hi, just moved into our new house and the snow has just melted and i see that a tree was removed from the front lawn leaving a big ugly bald area. I'm a new gardener and have no clue as to the best solution, thought about making a little garden and need to know the steps involved. Thanks to all.

If the stump has been removed all the better. Now, add some peat moss to the soil, work in and dampen well. So far, so good. Want to plant flowers? Pick up some annuals at the garden supply store and plant. Want to plant grass? Sow some seed, sunny type for a sunny location and shady type for, wee, you know.Anwway, good luck. anything will grow if you feed, water and give it some sun. Except hair on your head of course..
