The other day i noticed mold growing on the surface of some dirt in a tray i have. It's a soil-less mix.I took the dome off to let some air stir around (i know the soil needs to be moist and the dome is supposed to be on). Looks like the mold dried up some, but should i be concerned at all? This soil tray contains flower seeds that germinate with sun exposure. Marketman25@aol.com

I usually only leave those lids on fully until the seeds just begin sprouting, then I prop it open a few inches. As soon as the first leaves appear, I remove them altogether. Great air circulation is a must for starting seeds, in my opinion. Doing this eliminated the mold problem for me.

Usually, as soon as the lids are off, and there is more air circulation the mold seems to die off.
