Last year I bought these little boxwood bushes. Well I just noticed that they are beginning to brown on the tops and are looking really scragely. What do I do to fix this? They aren't dead but look awful. They have new growth, just don't know what to do about the brown.

I have long-established boxwoods. They often suffer some frost damage on the tops of the shrubs in the winter. One thing for sure, those brown areas won't turn green so you might as well prune them. Then you might have your soil tested to see if it is suitable for your plants. The right fertilizer, a good watering and several years will bring you nice big bushes that you will enjoy. They are slow growers but worth the wait. The new growth is very encouraging.

I will give it a try Carol. They are over 3 feet tall now so I am hoping that they stay.
