I noticed some aphids on my young lavender seedlings. Anyone know of a safe "sure-fire" way of killing them without killing the plants? They were a pesky problem last year in my gardens. That Sevin spray seemed to finally do the trick. Looks like they are already starting in again out there. Wish those lady bugs would get on the ball!!! gardendreamer03@aol.com

Even regular liquid dishwash soap mixed with water and squirted onto the plant works well, but you do have to keep after them. What we need are MONSTER ladybugs!

Thanks Eileen and Bess for the advice. To tell the truth, i went to Home Depot yesterday and found a pre-mixed spray in a green plastic spray bottle, called "Houseplant&Garden Insect Spray" (Garden Safe brand). Costs about $4. That's what i used on my lavender seedlings. Seems to be working so far- just hope it doesn't kill the plants!!! lol! I think it will be alright. Those aphids were a problem last year. I read that aphids not only suck the life out of your plants, but they can also spread plant diseases and fungus'.Would be nice if they made one product that would kill squirrls, aphids, slugs, and weeds!!!!! gardendreamer03@aol.com
