I planted a 2 foot tall bush last year and got a few flowers, bo big deal. This year it is almost 10 feet tall and LOADED with white flowers. How much do I trim it back this year without hurting it? Do I wait till spring to trim? Do I trim at all?

Do you still have flowers on it? If you do, go ahead and trim it back now. You can cut it back as much as you want. It must be in a great place and will come back. Do you trim off the flowers over the summer. This will cause more blooms and therefore, more butterflies.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
