I've found something invading my yard! They are very tiny, red, flat, oval shaped 'things' that have landed on my house, windows, pavement, some plants, clay pots, and grass. They are hard, seed-like things that don't seem to have legs, and don't appear to be moving. They are much smaller than scale. HELP! Can anyone identify this 'critter/disease'? I live close to the beach in southern Calif in an agricultural area where lima beans, lettuce, celery, and spinach have recently been planted close by. Thanks!
Christina

Are you sure they are an insect? Maybe there is a tree or bush nearby that has little tiny red seeds on them and they are drifting your direction. If is an insect it sounds like you have a major outbreak of whatever it is. Does it wash off? Catlover
