This weekend was beautiful here in Pa so I moved a maple tree that had no chance of growing straight amid the pines in the backyard to the front yard where it's branches could spread out.
Now that it's moved, what can I do to ensure that it will grow in the new spot. I watered it thoroughly when I planted it and staked it so it wouldn't fall over. Should I fertilize it? If so with what? Should I water it everyday? Please help.

Hey! Sounds like your natural instincts are right on target. A newly transplanted tree of any kind needs lots of water the first year it is planted. I believe that the rule of thumb is a good deep watering every week (if it doesn't rain), more often in the case of drought. Does this help?
