i got a tomato plant sprouting in back yard by pool(i really got learn to not spit them seeds out)its about a ft tall.think i can pot that baby in a 5 gallon bucket with holes and grow this winter and just bring in nites I need to.were really pretty mild wintertime here TX8b
my other plant is doing great he still has 5 growing and one is getting orange but the other 4 are still green.there was 7 but fried 2 up to eat.were good.

Do you have access to any of those mini
little greenhouses or could you or hubby
make one like it>>???
I bet you that might do the trick.
As I understand it besides liking the heat.
It's the length of sunlight it recieves for the
tomato to grow...

But also, you could over winter it,
even if it gets a bit leggie, maybe
even transplant it once during the winter months,
and sink that plant into the ground and what a root system on it, it should have!!!
It'd be ahead of schedule!! [thinker]

I have ate 4 tomatos off vine and are 2 more on it that are ripe and has 4 green ones growing.plant even looks good.i dumped all my shrimp peelings on it a month ago and scooped some more dirt mixed with leaves..seems pretty happy. [Smile] bet its grinning now with just getting a drink of 8.86 in two days
