About a month or so ago I bought a Money Tree (Pachira Aquatica). It's been growing very nicely in my indoor breezeway. am i suppose to continue training the new branches by winding them together. My mother seems to think so but it looks so nice the way it is growing without it. Please help!

To braid or not to braid is an aesthetic matter rather than a horticultural issue. Money trees don't grow braided in nature. If you like the way it looks now, then there is no reason to continue to braid it. Most people don't.

It's good that I don't have to. It is not very easy to braid something that delicate. Thanks for the info and I'll my mom away from it.

Hi there, just joined this site and spotted your message about the pachira. I bought mine already braided, but have just left it to grow 'au naturel' since. It looks pretty fabulous left as it is, but I was wondering if anyone has any advice about pruning pachiras. I'd like to try to keep the nice shape it has now while encouraging new growth. Hope yours is still looking good,
Claire

Mine still looks great. New growth is constantly growing. My mother just thought that i was suppose to braid it as it grew.
