This past spring I purchased my first Clamatis and planted as directed but it has not done well. It is yellow and hasn't grown at all. I know the rule head in the sun feet in the shade. It bloomed once but it was not the same as what the picture showed it would be. I hope some one may have an encouraging word for me. Plants: 1 | From: Washington State | Registered: Sep 2003

Clematis are a little tricky until they get established, which can take a year or two. The root system needs to reach a substantial size to be able to support all that top growth and flowers. Here's some sites that should be helpful.

I always say with Clematis, first year they sleep second year they creep third year they leap. I have found that to be true with all of mine. Do feed them , maybe some epsoma planttone or gardentone is an excellent fertilizer.
