I got an ever-blooming shamrock as a gift for (can you guess?) St. Patricks Day and I really love it. It has been one of the happiest plants I have ever seen. However, in the last 3-4 weeks, it gets yellow leaves that just lay down and they feel mushy. I don't feel I water too much, just once a week with miracle-gro. It gets plenty of bright, indirect light and a couple of hours of direct sunlight. It lives inside and has just recently (after all this started happening) been transplanted into a nice terra cotta pot, just one size bigger than before, and he is still sick. Can anyone help me???

Your Oxalis may be going into dormancy. Ordinarily that happens in the fall, but yours may have been forced and is out of its normal phase.

Another possibility is that the soil is saying too moist.

In either case, moving it to a larger pot has aggravated the problem. I suggest that you unpot and get it back into its original pot. Then allow the top quarter of the rootball to dry out before watering. If you begin to see healthy new growth in a few weeks, then you are on the right track.

If not, then gradually let the shamrock become drier and drier until it is completely dried out. Move it to a cool dim location for several months and then begin to water gradually after this dormant period.

Good luck.
