I was just given a baby tears plant. I've checked around on the internet but I can't find out anything about it. Does anyone know how I should take care of it?

The Latin names are Soleirolia soleirolii or Helxine soleirolii. If you do a web site on those, you will discover lots of information about them. the short of what I learned is this - "LIGHT: Place in medium light (east or west window). Avoid placing too close to window. WATER: Keep soil evenly moist. Mist daily with tepid water. Raise humidity. TEMPERATURE: Maintain average temperatures. Avoid cold drafts. Comments: Plant in a shallow pot with sand mixed into the growing medium. Prune to any desired shape. The plant may die back under less-than-ideal conditions, but it will regenerate if trimmed. Propagate by stem cuttings or division." I wish I were close enough to get a cutting from you, I miss having a baby's tears and haven't yet seen one for sale around here. good luck with it.

One note: I never misted the one I had and it did just fine until I moved to the desert. Then nothing I did helped!!
