I love the Wyoming canna!! It has purple to burgundy foliage and orange flowers. Sounds kind of clashy, but they are spectacular. Used to have lots of them. Tried yellow and red last year but they were just too tame.

Carol, If your looking to "unload" some of your "extra" canna, I'd be more than happy to take them off your hands, They sound BEAUTIFUL! Last year was my first year with cannas and my mother gave me 8 tubers. At the end of the season when I dug them up i had over 25-30 in each clump!! I thought that was crazy! I guess my neighbors horses are on steriods, hahahaha. This year I'm getting some other colors and planting them in clumps in my new garden. Take care everyone and happy gardening!

Hi, Renee. Sure wish I could share some with you. I cut them down after the first killing frost last fall but didn't get them out of the ground fast enough. Will have to start all over again. In the past I have hunted for people to take them off my hands. I'm so embarassed. That section of my flower garden is full of mushy, useless canna bulbs of no good to anyone. Sorry.

Someone gave me some yellow cannas last year. They didn't do very well (very dry here last summer). In SC u don't have to dig them up. They are up again, but don't look very good. Not sure what the problem is. I didn't take a lot of care in mixing good dirt around them like i normally do;so, the soil is very clayish... gardendreamer03@aol.com

Hi Canna Lover's
Actually it's my first time planting canna in my garden this spring.I haven't witnessed any growth at this time.I keep hearing awful things on the other forum about leaf rollers and how they can destroy these beautiful flowers.I would like to have sort of a tropical look to the garden this year.Any suggestions on feeding and getting rid of those nasty leaf rollers if I do get them?My garden has plenty of spiders and I think that's the reason I don't see many insects and aphids on the flowers.

Canna's love (how can I put this delicately?) manure tea. If you live near a farmer you could visit him and get a real tonic for your cannas. Just put your gift in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, add water and let it sit awhile. Water the cannas with your 'tea' and they will be happy. You'll want to keep your 'teapot' somewhere away from the house and it would be good to cover it since it draws flies if you don't. Isn't that special.

Don't feel bad about not getting your cannas up in time last year to beat the frost. I wasn't feeling well last year (in the hospital) and didn't get mine out either. I have the same mushy mess. What a waste. Like you said I'll have to just start again.
