i just recieved a keepsake azalea and i dont know how to care for it. can someone help me?

The most common mistake with caring for azaleas is inadequate watering. Check daily to see if the top layer of soil in the container feels dry to the touch. If so, soak thoroughly by pouring water into the soil until ti runs through the drainage holes. Wait about 15 minutes and water again. Azaleas take a lot of water, but empty the drainage tray after about 1/2 hour.

Azaleas need about 4 hours of very bright light each day, so place it close to a window. A northern exposure that receives indirect sunlight will do nicely.

It does not need fertilizing while in bloom, but it does need night temperatures of 45-55 F and day temperatures of 68 F or less. Cooler temperatures prolong flower freshness and helps keep the plant looking healthy longer.
