Help please. A friend bought a beautiful ficus tree about a month ago. It did well for the first few days, but now the part of the plant next to the wall is loosing its leaves. I know nothing about them except they need turned regularly. Thanks for the help!

Ficus trees are notorious for dropping leaves whenever they are relocated to a new environment. It is the change in light that causes this. If one side of your tree is kept against the wall, then it will drop leaves permanently because that side does not receive enough light. Thus, it is important to rotate your tree a quarter turn every week or each time you water. However, if your tree is not very close to and in front of an unshaded window, then it will decline because it needs more light.
I have written an article on complete Ficus tree care that I will email to anyone who sends a request to me at wcreed@HorticulturalHelp.com
