I have a new jade plant and I was wondering what the signs will be if it is NOT getting enough light. I have it in a east, southeast window. It gets morning sun until about noon or 1.

i haven't been able to kill a jade with not enough light. my only kills have been from either over watering or from freezing. good luck with yours, it seems to be in a good spot.

Jades will survive in a wide range of light levels. They thrive when they get several hours of direct sun from an unobstructed window. In good light, the plant will be compact with short spaces between the leaf joints and it will have a reddish border on the leaves.
As the light intensity is reduced, the leaves get smaller and the space between the leaves increases, giving the plant a stretched look. In lower light, the leaves do not have a red border.
