I was given a banana tree and it seems to be doing well, but it now has shoots and I have never delt with shoots and don't know what to do about them. How do I remove them to replant them?

You can use a sharp knife to cut them from the parent plant. They're easy to root. If you aren't careful, you'll be giving them away. That's what happened to me.
